Daryl L. Foster, MFA, is an award-winning choreographer, educator, and arts leader whose career spans over two decades across performance, education, and creative production. He holds an MFA in Choreography and Performance from Florida State University, where his thesis examined the lives of Black men in America through dance, culture, and social context.

Foster currently serves as Professor of Jazz and Musical Theater at Clayton State University and has taught extensively throughout the Southeast, including appointments at the University of Georgia, Spelman College, and Kennesaw State University.

He is the founder and artistic director of LIFT Men. Dance. Life., a groundbreaking initiative that has produced over 15 years of performances and created critical space for dialogue around race, masculinity, and identity through movement. His creative and entrepreneurial ventures include Black Warrior Productions LLC, Stage One Commercial Dance Training Program, and LIFT Talent Management, all of which focus on artist development and industry access.

Foster’s work extends into film, theater, and cultural production, including choreography for stage and screen and a featured performance in Disney’s The Descendants: The Rise of Red. He is also a published writer and critic, contributing to platforms such as ARTSATL and The Georgia Voice.

Through all of his work, Foster remains dedicated to using art as a vehicle for storytelling, education, and social impact; creating pathways for artists while challenging audiences to engage with the complexities of the human experience.
