Black Warrior Dance, Inc. is more than a dance company.
It is an artistic institution committed to cultivating artists, producing original work, preserving cultural narratives, and investing in future generations of creative leaders.
Founded by choreographer and educator Daryl L. Foster, Black Warrior Dance exists to ensure that dance serves not only as entertainment, but also as a vehicle for education, cultural preservation, healing, and social transformation.
Through our three signature initiatives: LIFT: Men. Dance. Life., EMERGING: A Course in Creativity, and The Foster Fund we support artists at every stage of their creative journey.
